The year is 1986. In Ochopee, Florida, 11-year-old Joanie Shriver is kidnapped, raped, and murdered. Bobby Earl Ferguson is arrested by officers Tanny Brown and J. T. Wilcox, who proceed to beat Bobby into confessing to the murder. Bobby is placed on trial, where Bobby's defense attorney McNair puts up a lousy defense for Bobby, and Bobby is sentenced to be executed. Now, eight years later, Bobby hands a letter to his grandmother Evangeline and asks Evangeline to go to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to hire Harvard law professor Paul Armstrong to clear Bobby's name. At Harvard, Paul is attacking capital punishment in a campus debate, when Evangeline arrives and hands the letter to Paul. Paul goes home, where his wife Laurie is throwing a birthday party for their young daughter Katey. Laurie reads the letter and she encourages Paul to take the case, even though he hasn't practiced law in 25 years. Paul, Laurie, and Katey head to Florida, where Paul meets Bobby in the prison. Bobby tells Paul his side of the story and what Tanny and Wilcox did. Paul begins to believe that Bobby was railroaded. Bobby tells Paul to speak to Blair Sullivan, a man who is also on death row. Blair gives Paul some clues that could prove Bobby's innocence — and Blair's own guilt. But in the process of trying to clear Bobby, Paul learns some disturbing truths about Bobby, putting Paul and his family in a fight for their lives.

In doing so, Beale becomes a major TV icon and one of the most valuable assets to the Communications Corporation of America (CCA), the company that is gradually taking control of UBS. As a result he is given his own show as 'the mad prophet of the air-waves'. He appears live on television every week-day evening to tell the real truth to the people of America. The programme is a huge success but Beale uses his power to make startling revelations about CCA, leaving the company executives with a serious problem.

Il fait son travail, mais le coup est renvoyé néanmoins et Coupe au carré Lee est vite le gars de chute : blessé et recherché par des milliers, il va fonder et, aidé par deux alliés improbables, cherche la vérité et pour ceux qui doublement traversé lui. The Fortune de Biscuit unfolds on an Easter week-end full of incidents in the small spring city of Holly, Mississippi. The local inhabitants are gentle, nice people - except for Camille Dixon (Glenn Close) - a ruthlessly ambitious theatre manager with a terrifically timid younger sister, Cora (Julianne Moore), from whom the separated girl Emma (Liv Tyler) has just come back to the city. On the heels of his last game, Camille is shocked to discover that his aunt Jewel Mae " the Cookie " Orcutt (Patricia Neal) committed suicide. Terrified in thought how it will tarnish surname, she eats the note of suicide to make it resemble in a break-in. This organisation leads the police to a main suspect, Willis Richland (Charles S. Dutton), who also succeeds in being the best friend of Cookie. Although the rest of the city is persuaded Willis did not commit crime, an external investigateur (Courtney B. Vance) am not yes sure. As the Sunday of Easter and the first night of game comes, the truth leaves, by revealing more secrets that somebody could have imagined perhaps. Manager Altman says his history in a quiet step, by recreating wonderfully the eccentricities of small local life in this soft history - natured. La Fortune de Biscuit se déplie sur un week-end de Pâques plein d'incidents dans la petite ville de Printemps de Houx, Mississippi. Les résidents municipaux sont des gens paisibles, gentils - à l'exception de Camille Dixon (Glenn Close) - un directeur de théâtre arriviste avec une soeur plus jeune incroyablement timide, Cora (Julianne Moore), dont la fille séparée Emma (Liv Tyler) vient de revenir à la ville. Sur les talons de son dernier jeu, Camille est choqué de découvrir que sa Tante Jewel Mae "le Biscuit" Orcutt (Patricia Neal) s'est suicidée. Terrifié à la pensée comment cela ternira le nom de famille, elle mange la note de suicide pour le faire ressembler à un cambriolage. Cette organisation mène la police à un suspect principal, Willis Richland (Charles S. Dutton), qui arrive aussi à être le meilleur ami de Biscuit. Bien que le reste de la ville soit convaincu Willis n'a pas commis le crime, un investigateur extérieur (Courtney B. Vance) n'est pas sûr si. Comme le Dimanche de Pâques et la première nuit du jeu arrive, la vérité part, en révélant plus de secrets que quelqu'un pourrait avoir imaginé peut-être. Directeur Altman dit son histoire à un pas tranquille, en recréant admirablement les excentricités de petite vie municipale dans cette histoire douce-natured.
